Mill workers

The Mill was a large building in which a series of often complicated processes took place.

The ore entered the Mill from the underground and left as the mine’s final product, tin concentrate, or as waste produced along the way. Each process had a team of operators who worked round the clock to keep their machinery in good working order; oiling greasing, topping up with the relevant chemicals etc. Many of the machinery needed 24 hour attendance.
