Inspired and Wild: Celebrating Cornwall's Art and Wildlife

Now closed.

November 18th 2009 - January 31st 2010.

Cornwall Wildlife Trust’s touring art exhibition is now at Geevor Tin Mine in its fourth and final venue on a county-wide tour. ‘Inspired and Wild: Celebrating Cornwall’s Art and Wildlife’ is raising vital funds for the Trust and showcases the wealth of Cornish artistic talent. Including striking and thought-provoking artwork, the exhibition has been raising awareness of the Trust’s work and displaying different interpretations of wildlife and habitats in Cornwall.

‘Inspired and Wild’ is a diverse collection of paintings, photography and mixed media, as well as cards and prints. Any artwork sold will carry a 40% donation to the Trust, helping to raise money to enable the charity to continue their important conservation work. The exhibition has had a successful start, and a number of the major pieces have been sold and then replaced, keeping the exhibition fresh and different at each venue. With a selection of art that includes pieces from David Chapman, Suzy Sharpe, Michael Atkinson and Ian Griffiths; ‘Inspired and Wild’ promises to both engage and inspire its visitors.

Serena Pettigrew-Jolly, Marketing and Fundraising Co-ordinator at Cornwall Wildlife Trustsays, “We are very happy to be working with Geevor Tin Mine to present this stunning collection of artwork, which has been inspired by the beautiful wildlife and scenery of wild Cornwall. Geevor Tin Mine is such a unique venue, and we are very pleased that it will tie-in with their exciting photographic exhibition ‘Wildlife on the Edge”.

‘Inspired and Wild’ has featured at a variety of venues. It began at Cornwall Wildlife Trust’s Head Office at their nature reserve Five Acres, then moved to the Cornish Studies Library in Redruth from 19th October. From 30th October the exhibition was at Lobbs Farm Shop in Heligan.
