Geevor the great provider

pendeen swimming pool with a group of children

In modern times Geevor occasionally supplied materials and labour to fix local buildings such as the church and was involved in community events such as carnivals.

The mine built a tidal swimming pool for local enjoyment at the bottom of the site near Boat Cove.

There was an annual Geevor Gala – a summer fayre which included hand drilling competitions and demonstrations by the mine rescue team.
