Support us - Become a Friend of Geevor

Geevor is the last surviving example of a complete 20th century Cornish tin mine - your Gift-aided admissions and donations keeps our legacy going and our doors open to visitors all year round.

Pendeen Community Heritage (PCH) is a small independent registered charity (no. 1087755) that was formed in 2001 by a group of local mining enthusiasts and engineers for the sole purpose of preserving Geevor Tin Mine for future generations. Metal mining was one of Cornwall’s great industries.

In January 2024 we signed a 99-year lease with Cornwall Council to manage the mine, but we receive no local authority funding.

We have a team of dedicated staff and volunteers and are passionate about our work.

Geevor Tin Mine is a large site and the many buildings, original mining and mill equipment and underground visitor mine all require continual investment and maintenance. The site is recognised as a Scheduled Monument and is a key centre within the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site.

We seek your support towards:

  • The continuing conservation of the unique mining heritage of Geevor
  • Providing educational visits – from primary schools to universities
  • Creating sustainable employment for local people

Your Gift-aided admissions and all donations are invested back into the mine as we continue with this work.
