Cornish Mine Images by Simon Jones
We are delighted to be hosting a new exhibition on site in our Hard Rock Museum Gallery. The exhibition has been created by Simon Jones of 'Cornish Mine Images'. It is a fascinating collection of hand printed images of our famous Cornish Mines.
Simon Jones
Simon has been photographing the Cornish mining industry for over 30 years and has a fascinating collection of images from all of the major Cornish Mines including some of the lesser known gems. Simon has selected 60 of his best images for the exhibition at Geevor, painstakingly hand printing and framing every image. It’s taken a lot of work for Simon and those who have helped a long the way, but the exhibition is up and looks great. The exhibition is available as part of our site entry fee and during site opening hours. We also have a selection of images available in our shop. For information on Simon’s work please visit the link below.
"A great tribute to all who have been involved in hard rock mining in the county"
"An awesome display of life underground in the Cornish Mines"
Cornish Metals
Both Simon and Geevor are very grateful to Cornish Metals for sponsoring this exhibition. We wish them continued success with all their work at South Crofty
Simon would like to dedicate this exhibition to the generations of men and women who worked the Cornish Mines and to his late friend Dr Nick Le Boutillier.
