We recommend a member of the Geevor Learning Team visits your school to run one of our outreach sessions before you come to visit the Geevor Tin Mine sites.
Outreach Sessions
We run a variety of outreach sessions, suitable for different age groups, where a member of the Geevor Learning Team runs sessions at your school.
STANDARD OUTREACH SESSIONS
For 5-11yrs:
A member of Geevor’s Learning Team can come to your school with mining artefacts and deliver a session exploring the objects, trying on the mining clothes and have a chance to ask their questions to a Learning Team member, ideally before their visit.
The session is approximately an hour long per visiting class and can be adapted for all primary school-aged students (5-11yrs). It aims to prepare and enthuse your students for their visit to Geevor by equipping them with the relevant vocabulary and basic process of rock to tin product.
In order to cover staffing and travel costs, there is a charge for our Outreach services, dependent on length of session and distance from Geevor and is available to groups up to 50miles away from Geevor.
For groups situated within 30miles of Geevor, a Standard Outreach costs £50 (ex.VAT) for up to two consecutive 1-hour sessions, with no more than two classes per session.
For groups situated between 30-50miles of Geevor, a Standard Outreach costs £80 (ex.VAT) for up to two consecutive 1-hour sessions, with no more than two classes per session.

For 3-5yrs (Mini-Miners! Outreach):
This outreach session focuses on a music and puppet show that introduces the topic of mining in a fun and interactive way.
For groups situated within 30miles of Geevor, this Mini-Miners! Outreach costs £50 (ex.VAT) for up to two sessions with no more than one class per session.
For groups situated between 30-50miles of Geevor, this Mini-Miners!Outreach costs £80 (ex.VAT) for up to two sessions with no more than one class per session.

Talks for Special Interest Groups
We have provided talks for the University of the Third Age, the Women’s Institute, Old Cornwall Societies and more.
