Things to Do in West Cornwall
Pendeen is in a beautiful part of Cornwall, located between moorland to the south and east and the North Atlantic cliffs to the north and west. Geevor Tin Mine was the last mine to work the St Just Mining District, famous for the largest collection of undersea tin mines in the world.
The South West Coastal Path crosses through Geevor, meaning you can enjoy a walk before or after your visit to the Mine. We’re a great place to start or finish your walk – enjoy a lunch in our café before you depart for your walk, or as a reward at the end!
Extend your visit to Geevor by enjoying a visit to Levant Mine – it’s only a short walk across the cliffs. Note: Levant Mine is open on Wednesdays throughout the winter – you will need to book your visit to Levant via their website.
We have a great relationship with the Telegraph Museum Porthcurno, an award winning family friendly museum only a few miles down the road. Based next to the beach at Porthcurno and neighbours to the Minack Theatre, this museum was once the heart of international telecommunications and has an amazing story to tell.
Land’s End is only ten miles away to the west, and St Ives is a ten mile drive to the East. You could also enjoy a visit to the National Trust property, Trengwainton Garden or the delights of Tremenheere Sculpture Garden, just outside Penzance. We’re just a 20 minute drive from the iconic St Michael’s Mount at Marazion too.
There’s so much to enjoy on a day out in this beautiful part of Cornwall.
